A Story of Innovation
The copper zari butta is woven separately on a small loom known as a karha. The weaver creates a design on graph paper, which is then translated onto the loom. The copper zari thread is wound onto bobbins and inserted into the loom. The weaver uses a technique called brocade weaving to create the design. Brocade weaving involves weaving the zari thread on top of the silk fabric, creating a raised design.
